Fairly common: Since most sinusitis is viral, it's not uncommon to have some of the symptoms you described before you get a full blown sinus infection. Symptoms like fever, muscle aches, ear pain, sore throat, nasal congestion with post-nasal drip (possibly the cause of the metallic taste in your mouth) are pretty common, especially this time of year.
