: Marginal placenta previas often resolve and in the meantime are not an immediate problem unless you start bleeding. However you are significantly anemic and need to aggressively take iron supplements, especially in case bleeding does occur.

is it normal for a 14 month old child to have only 2 teeth? the baby is on target with height, weight and developmental milestones.  in fact he seems fairly bright. he just doesn't have more than 2 teeth.  thank you, worried grammie

don't worry. Every child will have a different eruption pattern. He may just be a late bloomer when it comes to this category.

And for the record, a late eruption pattern has nothing to do with his intelligence :-)

as long as he is healthy, everything should be just fine. Think of it this way.. Nothing you can do to make them erupt more quickly.

my 14 month old boy seems to have mouth thrush (white patches in mouth, same as when he had one before) and being very fussy. should i go to see a doctor or can i  buy medication from over the counter? if so, which one..? thank you in advance!?

: Please go and see your doctor, you don't want to misdiagnose a condition that could get worse while you are hoping your choice of medication relieves the symptoms.  It takes a long time to become a doctor, and we have to learn how to differentially diagnose the symptoms of diseases.

There a range of wt.: Boy? Girl? Range from19-29 lb. Also  it depends on baby's hgt.

: His weight is supposed to be around 10 kg by now. 
How's about his height? Does it also stop or he continues to grow?
If his height ceases after 10 months, he needs to be evaluated.
If he gets taller, I would observe for now and the relative weight loss (or no weight gain for 4 months) could be from the diet change after the 10th month.

: His weight should be followed closely for the next couple of months. Be sure he has enough protein and iron from other foods as he is having a vegetarian diet. Children do go through times of not much weight gain, so may not be concerning, especially if he is growing in height. If still no gain in next few months, consider seeing a specialist or having some testing done.

you should discuss your concern with your babies pediatrician at the next visit.Baby should be walking by now.

Developmental delay: Sitting unsupported, crawling, and walking are are progressive developmental milestones and it is concerning that your grand baby hasn't met any of them at this point. The baby should have been getting well child checks at regular intervals and having their development assessed. The earlier the intervention the better the outcome potential. Visit the pediatrician and get the necessary referrals.
