i seem to have a rash / infection on my toes. i have had athletes foot but it doesnt look like that. its on top of my toes, sometimes itchy, my skin is also slightly red/ inflamed. have been using mycota cream but it doesnt seem to help.

Usually: Athletes foot  involves BOTH feet...If this rash is ONE SIDED . consult a Dermatologist!!!

There must be more: So the Dr saw you with severe, itchy dermatitis on top of your feet and did not see features of fungus. What, then, was the diagnosis? Allergic contact? And the treatment was Aquaphor????? Sounds like you need a potent prescription ointment, maybe a short course of prednisone [20mg alternate days for 3 doses].

Causes of athlete's : Fungus thrives in a moist, warm and dark environment. Using anti-perspirants on your feet is very helpful in preventing infection.

Lamisil (terbinafine): Use Lamisil (terbinafine) which does not require a prescription.

Deodorant: Deodorant spray with lotrim (otc) spray.  That is the combination i prescribe to my patients.  Hope that helps.

Yes.: It could be eczema, athlete's foot, or something's irritating your skin. How long has this been going on? What's new?

Possible fungus : I will give you credit and say this, you sure tried  all the available options to try and treat it except one. That being over-the-counter antifungal medication. If that is available to you Lamisil is what I recommend.  If your feet perspire a lot this also needs to be addressed .   If you do not respond to this please seek medical attention
