Menopause: There is a wide range of ages for menopause from 35 to 55 years old.  You may have the change about the same age as your mother did.  There are other things that may affect the time you stop your periods. There are more women going into the 50's before going into menopause these days.

Girls growth&periods: Girls normally stop growing in height about two years after they start their periods.This is average but there are exceptions.But the growth spurt stops approx 2 years after the first menstrual period.

Menorrhagia: A period should not late more than a week. Bleeding as much as you are, i would recommend seeing a doctor for evaluation of your thyroid, an exam, and maybe imaging. You may consider getting on hormonal control.

Safe to use: This med is an anti-fibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of clots which leads to stoppage of heavy bleeding. The med is used for females who have excessive menstrual bleeding and uterine problems. Side effects include tiredness, nasal congestion or pain in muscle/bone/joints. It is safe to take for prolonged times. Do not drink alcohol while on this med.

is it safe to take xamic(tranexamic acid) 500 mg capsule to stop heavy/prolonged period?  i have been taking it every month at least for two days (1-1.5 gm everyday) for last four months.  age: 29.

Eye exam: My understanding with this drug is that it is pretty safe to use on a repeated basis for no more than 5 days a month, but if it is used for over 3 months in a row, an eye exam by an eye Dr is strongly recommended.   I assume you also are following up with your prescribing Dr every few months for safety reasons- that is also recommended

: Weight loss could cause cessation of periods. If you have not lost weight recently and you miss two periods, it would be prudent to see your doctor.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

my period is super heavy for 2-4 days, stops for 24 hrs, comes back moderate & tapers off, stopping 2-4 days later. i took bcp age 21-37 & was irregular for 18-24 mths before this pattern settled. i'm 41, no other symptoms. reason for concern or ok?

: This may be a variation on a normal pattern of menstrual bleeding. However, "super heavy" period for 2-4 days puts you at risk of iron deficiency. It would be useful to take oral iron and multivitamin supplements and discuss it with your doctor at the next visit.

Obgyn visit: The answer depends on what her periods are normally like. If this is different than her usual cycles she should have an evaluation by an obgyn. A pelvic exam and sonogram should be done. They may want to do an endometrial biopsy or evaluate the uterine cavity by sonohystogram or hysteroscopy depending on her unique case.
