See below: The Aspirin dose used for thinning blood is no where near the anti inflammatory dose.  Because of this there is a low risk of slowing healing.  The risk of clots is now a major concern and recent studies show it is a safe and effective way of preventing them.

Aspirin/coiling: Ask your neurointerventionalist to be certain, but that long after coiling the aneurysm is probably not still a concern for bleeding.  It is generally felt that low dose Aspirin is not related to increased bleeding risk and provides significant benefit in terms of heart attack and stroke prevention.

should i stop taking baby aspirin before surgery?

: Baby aspirin is a blood anti-platelet regimen. It prevents clotting. In most cases the operating Dr insists on all blood thinners and Anti-platelet meds being stopped for a minimum of a week prior to surgery. Since I have no other information on your history or your surgery, you will need to discuss this with the Surgeon or his staff. Make sure to ask at least one week before surgery.

Aspirin and aurgery: Percocet is ok- just be sure to tell the anesthesiologist. Definitely avoid aspirin- it interferes with blood clotting and could cause excessive bleeding during surgery

Sometimes: Daily Aspirin at 325mg/day can cause gastritis and bleeding from the stomach. Many experts recommend the high dose for the first month and then 81mg daily after. The lower dose has good effectiveness and may be less likely to cause stomach bleeding. Patients with stents need daily Aspirin for life. For the first year after a stent, drugs like Plavix (clopidogrel) or Effient are essential to prevent stent clots.

No: Percocet (http://www.Drugs.Com/percocet.Html) is a brand name combination of oxycodone (powerful & addicting narcotic/opioid like morphine) and Acetaminophen (commonly sold as tylenol). It contains no aspirin. i had to stop my aspirin for surgery on tuesday. is there such thing as aspirin withdrawl? because i have been constipated since i stopped.

Not perfect: Aspirin is not addicting nor can cause physical or physiologic dependence. Withdrawals anyway would cause more diarrhea than constipation due to hyperactivity. Eat more fibers. I don't see calcium channel blockers for hypertension in your medicines which can cause constipation.

i'm having a tonsillectomy tomorrow and was told not to take any aspirin. i took and endone tablet sunday evening, will that affect the surgery?

No,endone does NOT: contain aspirin, just oxycodone,so you are safe. Make sure the Dr knows you took endone.

Depends: It depends on the type of surgery. It also depends on the reason you are on these medication for. It would be prudent to check with your doctor.

Yes: In most instances, it is not necessary to stop Aspirin or Plavix (clopidogrel) for routine cataract surgery. Best to consult directly with your surgeon about this.
