Aspirin and aurgery: Percocet is ok- just be sure to tell the anesthesiologist. Definitely avoid aspirin- it interferes with blood clotting and could cause excessive bleeding during surgery

However, you’re right to ask, and it’s very important to avoid most other pain medications -- aspirin and NSAIDS (e.g., ibuprofen – Advil, Motrin; naproxen - Aleve) -- within a certain timeframe before surgery because they can significantly increase your risk of bleeding. Percocet contains oxycodone and acetaminophen, which have low risks of bleeding.
