Tylenol (acetaminophen): You may need a different NSAID if your having trouble taking Arthrotec, such as Mobic or Naprosyn, OR add tylenol (acetaminophen).

Arthritis,anxiety: Arthotec contain two medications - diclofenac arthritis medicine ; Misoprostol stomach protector.
Seroquel (quetiapine) is used for anxiety and psychiatric problems - such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia usually in much higher doses than 25 mg. Seroquel (quetiapine) is in the antipsychotic family but also as a mood stabilizer
ativan is a tranquilizer used for anxiety. Ativan is short term use or occasional rescue use.

Agree w  Dr. Waghmar: Diclofenac + Misoprostol  = Arthrotec (diclofenac and misoprostol).  This is an NSAID (declofencac) with a med to protect against ulcers (Misaprostil).

Trial and error: If Arthotec is not working, there are many analgesic creams available.  In my experience, one has to try several brands to see which one works.  If your skin is sensitive, any with cayenne pepper may cause more irritation.

Different suggestion: Misoprostil and diclofenac are the active ingredients in Arthrotec (diclofenac and misoprostol). Diclofenac is the NSAID for arthritis and misoprostil is used to prevent NSAID  ulcers. Studies show short term protection is about equal for misoprostil and omrprazole, but misoprostil has a higher relapse rate and more side effects. Maalox reduces heartburn but does not protect from ulcers, so your NSAID plus Omeprazole best.

can rheumatoid arthritis cause thrush on tongue?  i am hiv negative and take aciphex, (rabeprazole) carafate, and arthrotec.

Not a cause: There are multiple interactions between rheumatology and oral pathology. Oral thrush is common in rheumatoid arthritis patients treated with high-dose corticosteroids. However, it is not a direct cause. Take care.

Absurd: That is an absurd and totally incorrect piece of advice.  All of these meds have similar GI risks. If you must take an NSAIDs, take a med regularly to treat your GERD such as Prilosec, Protonix, Nexium, (esomeprazole) etc.

Not for use in preg: This is an arthritis medicine that should not be used during pregnancy. It will cause an abortion in very early pregnancy and more serious problems in later pregnancy. It is safe to use after an abortion.
