It can be...: During anxiety attacks, blood vessels in your extremities (arms and legs) contract, centralizing blood flow in your core.  The decreased blood flow in your hands and arms can cause them to feel cold, clammy, and sometimes numb.  That being said, it is a good idea to report these symptoms to your physician just to make sure they have no concerns regarding a medical cause for those symptoms.

i have been taking lexapro 5 mg for anxiety for about 5 weeks now. i take it around 9am.  i always wake up btw 3-4 am and starts to have burning sensation in hands and arms. it seems like it is consistent and not going away. is this common?

Paraesthesias?: The burning sensation in hands and arms is a side effect of Lexapro,occuring in 2% of people taking it. If intolerable you can get changed to another agent of same group. Early waking up will become better with continued treatment of depression and anxiety with the antidepressant of choice.

Depends: It depends on whether your hands and and arms really shake or you just feel shaky.  Could be related to anxiety or if arms really shake a familial tendency. Discuss with your doctor.

Possible, see doctor: Episodes of anxiety can cause hyperventilation, which can produce tingling sensations. Depression can trigger chronic pain.  Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your meds and whether these sensations could be due to any medication you are taking.

Yes: sounds like you are anxious about being anxious. Anxiety can cause a multitude of differing physical symptoms. Best thing to do is see a psychiatrist to learn treatment options and likely seek a therapist to discuss coping mechanisms and managing and dealing with anxiety. a good book is called the anxiety and phobia workbook which you can search for on amazon.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

You may take an over the counter multivitamin supplement plus sub-lingual vitamin B12, in case it is due to vitamin deficiency. If that does not help, it would be prudent to see a doctor.
