Colonic biopsy: Suspect that the colonoscopist is just being extra thorough and cautious. Give them a gold star. This is just very detailed and careful medical practice.

i had a follow up colonoscopy after the one from a month ago had an incomplete prep. 3 polyps were removed but two more were found in the follow up in area that had none in the initial colonoscopy. could two more have grown that quickly? this worriso?

: No, polyps take years to grow. It is more likely that they were missed during the first colonoscopy, because of the poor colonic preparation. Polyps can be obscured by stool remaining in the colon when the preparation is not adequate. Good that you got them removed. Your gastroenterologist can tell you what your follow up should be depending on what type of polyps they are. Good luck.

COLONOSCOPY RASH: This is not an uncommon reaction. Warm water compresses 3 or 4 times a day; no toilet paper for a week (just use warm compresses over the area; after the compresses use either zinc oxide ointment or butt-paste. No hot, spicy foods for a week. Be patient.

Depends.: Depends on what they biopsied.  Did they biopsy a "suspicious" area?  Diverticuli are common findings on colonoscopy and generally do not cause any symptoms.  Generally they do not need to be biopsied.

i had a colonoscopy  and it said  findings  terminal ileum two small areas of shallow ulceration not otherwise normal  just wanted.  to know what that?

Possibly nothing: We sometimes see these.  They may be nonspecific and related to preparation artifact.  They may also be related to medications you may be taking such as nonsteroidal medications (ibuprofen, naproxen, advil).  Inflammatory bowel disease is also a consideration but is less likely based on your description.  Make sure to followup with your doctor who did the procedure.

Yes: sometimes during colonoscopy slight trauma to the walls of colon happens during the procedure.
It should go away soon ,consult your doctor if it didn't .

COLONOSCOPY.: You can have abdominal distension and bloated feeling for a few a days after colonoscopy.The air should not travel to neck unless is cases of extreme emergency called  colonic perforation.

Coccyx: I doubt very much that the colonscopy caused this. However, coccyx pain can be treated please see your pain doctor for help.

Ask your doctor to e: Your doctor should explain it to you. it implies that there may be a growth?tumor in this area which is compressing the cecum. If you have any local symptoms like pain or swelling in the right lower abdomen, you may need a CT scan to look for any extrinsic mass in this area.

what could redness and inflamed areas of colon indicate on colonoscopy? biopsies were taken.

Accepted Answer

Redness suggests..: ..more vascularity or blood vessels. These often accompany infection or inflammation. Microscopic evaluation of the biopsied tissue will determine whether they is a sufficient amount and type of inflammation to make the diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease/Crohn's Disease. Cultures for infection may have also been taken, and cancer cells will be looked for (unlikely).
