: A little blood in sputum (phlegm) during colds, bronchitis, flu, etc usually isn't serious or harmful. See a doctor if bleeding seems heavy (e.g. coughing nearly pure blood) or if it continues after your cold/bronchitis improves over the next week or two.

what r possible reasons orange phlegm rising from my throat not via cough.. given my pd rx isn't source, nor is orange food/drink. do have emphysema?

Otolaryngologist: This substance may be a mixture of mucus, saliva with traces of blood and may be coming from the back of the nose, paranasal sinuses, mouth or throat since you're not coughing it up. It is not a symptom of emphysema and most likely is not coming from the bronchial tubes or lungs which would usually have an accompanying cough. I recommend that you have an exam by an otolaryngologist.

Virus &amp;/or allergies: Viral upper respiratory infections can hang around for weeks, but may be compounded by allergies. Sinus infection is another possibility. Best to see a primary care provider at this point for a more complete evaluation. Hope this helps!

Actions of vitamins: Most vitamins and minerals are there to help in the kreb's cycle and metabolism of food as part of the enzymes and coenzymes. They are not proven to cure diseases, but they help the body have the energy in fighting diseases and in the repair of tissues damaged by the disease so it goes back to normal. 2 vitamins used as they are are a and k, the rest as coenzymes.

Bronchitis: The color is not normal. Save a sample for blood detection. See your PCP right away. There may be an infection or other source of the bleeding.

Hi John,BP check: Hi John, please check with your primary doctor to see if you can take Mucinex (guaifenesin) D for more than a few days as the D ingredient   can raise your BP.  It's  safer to take the plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) (without D). Kind regards.

: Your symptoms are consistent with an upper respiratory infection and possible conjunctivitis but we cannot diagnose on this part of the platform. Both of these types of infections can be viral in which case, rest, fluids, and time will be the treatment. However, if you have a sinus infection or other bacterial infection, you need to be examined to determine that and give you proper treatment.

Since your cough has persisted for more than two weeks, it needs to be evaluated.  A physician should listen to your lungs with a stethescope and examine your ears and throat.  A lung or bronchial infection, new onset asthma or sinus drainage are just three possible causes for a persistent cough.
