Yes.: The vast majority of babies conceived via ivf are born healthy. Low birthweight and premature birth are more prevalent, but these are the direct result of multiple live births (twins, triplets, etc.) that can occur with ivf. Heart defects, cleft lips and other congenital anomalies are more common in ivf (5% general population vs. ~6.5% for ivf - based on study in the uk).

Yes: She conceived her octuplets and 6 older children via in vitro fertilization. She started this off when she was 21 yrs old and dr. Michael kamrava assisted with the ivf. Dr. Kamrava's license has been revoked due to the issues surrounding implantation of 12 embryos-not the standard of care. The ivf resulted in the octuplets in 2009.

Both can do well: The outcome for premi's at 32 wks depends on a blend of baby factors & the staffing at the delivery hospital.Avoid delivery in a smaller facility.Delivery with neonatologist & neonatal nurses  standing by with movement to the nicu for stabilization &  initial assessment  permits a smoother process & decreases the risks involved in premi care.Delivery helps mom stabilize & recover.

Maybe: This kind of postponement is now common. It is, however, against the natural biology of birth and there is a greater risk, although that is not assesable.You can't have it both ways---- you accept the risk. As we move artificially from our biology, we increase risk.

my husband has klinfelters and we starting ivf to have a baby. i am wonder if it is inherited or can our child be affected from it. eg down syrdome?

Genetic counseling: It is very important you and your husband speak with a genetic counselor about the possible risks associated with doing ivf when the father has klinefelter syndrome. Safe and effective: Ivf is effective but the chances depend on a number of factors including age, diagnosis and clinic.  It works well in 25 year olds and  poorly in 45 year olds. Like any medical procedure there are risks to the patient and probably the baby as well. Your doctor will go over these in detail.
