i am in a lot of pain in my abdomen. on my r side i have a ct scan july 31 i am trying to work thru the pain could it be appendicitis or overian cyst?

Could be many things: Could be appendicitis or ovarian cyst or many other things. If pain is severe you should seek medical help right away.

Go to your doctor. : Self diagnosis is very risky, especially with appendicitis.  Go to your doctor or the er. A ct would be the best test to distinguish between a cyst and appendicitis. Get checked though because if it is appendicitis, delay in diagnosis can lead to rupture which can cause fertility problems in the future, or even death.

Abd pain : Your state it is not appendicitis or ovarian cyst-how do you know, what testing have you had?  abdominal pain can be from several other things, colon, intestine, gall bladder, arteries, muscles /skin on the abdominal wall, referral from the spine.

Huge but simlar pain: There is a huge difference between appendicitis and a ruptured cyst. However the initial symptoms may be nearly identical making the differential diagnosis confusing.  Appendicitis requires close observation, antibiotics, and possible surgery for impending rupture. However rupture ovarian cysts rarely require intervention other than pain medication unless there is sever associated bleeding.

Maybe none: Pain could be exactly the same, but if you feel it is like the cust pain you had before, that is probable. However, if it is progressive, see a doctor asap.

Might be hard to tel: Ovarian cysts if unruptured usually cause no symptoms. When they rupture, their presentation may be essentially indistinguishable from that of appendicitis - lower abdominal pain (may be right or left or bilateral). There may be fever, nausea/vomiting present. Ultrasound and/or ct abdomen/pelvis usually helps differentiating between the two.

Many things: Other causes of rlq pain would include pid(pelvic inflammatory disease), tubo-ovaarian abscess, meckels diverticulitis, sigmoid colon diverticulitis, various types of colitis, muscular abdominal wall pain, gastroenteritis with diarrhea etc.

Umbilical Hernia: It is unlikely to be a cyst or appendicitis. appendicitis not only causes pain but fever, loss of appetite, nausea, etc....  it also will worsen in a short time. cysts tend to be short lived and resolve on their own unless very large. I would be concerned for an umbilical hernia which will cause pain that can radiate. worse with straining and better with rest. They are easy to find on exam.

i thought my severe pain was appendicitis, but turned out to be an ovarian cyst. i'm in excrutiating pain w/a consistant lowgrade fever. worry or not?

Not to: "worry" but "excruciating" pain and fever  from an uncomplicated ovarian cyst is very unusual...contact your GYN for further treatment.
