: Some actually suggest you do so. I have no reason to believe it would interfere with the vaccine or increase your risks of any side effects. It may reduce some of the soreness many experience.

i take 20 mg lexapro daily. i have a head cold. can i take advil. tylenol doesnt seem to help?

Med interactions.: Per Drugs.Com drug interaction checker, there is moderate potential for a drug interaction when escitalopram &amp;  ibuprofen are mixed. There is ^ bleeding risk BUT this is more likely if there is renal/ hepatic disease or you are elderly.  Many people take this medication combination with no problems. Hope you feel better soon.

See below: Without knowing whether you have normal kidney function as well normal liver function it difficult to answer.  If everything is normal, the advil can be taken every 8 hours, and tylenol (acetaminophen) every 6 hours but no more than what is recommended on the packaging.

i started coughing a bit & have a slight temp 99.1 i read that you shouldnt take advil or tylenol right away , so as to let the body fight the virus , is that a good idea ?

Temperature : That temperature is normal. A fever starts at 100.4.  I would not recommend treatment to manage a normal temperature alone. Common cold viruses are treated by a normal immune system and a healthy lifestyle.

NSAIDS do not help: Neuralgia (neuropathic pain) does  not respond well to anti inflammatory medicines. True neuralgia first line med should be low dose Amitriptyline an hr before bed. OR Gabapentin slowly increasing the dose over 1 month with meals to tolerate side effects OR lyrica (pregablin) start at bed time low dose. DIet exercise no alcohol no cigarettes, 8 -10 hrs of sleep/ night. See your primary care f

Sounds like a lot: Two regular strength Advil and two regular strength Tylenol, 3 times, would equal 6 Advil and 6 Tylenol. That would mean 12 pills every 4 hours, or 72 pills every day. Maybe the dentist's instructions are confusing the patient. Best for the patient to call the dentist and verify how to take the pain-relief medication.

i've had a juicy cough, body aches. fevers have ranged from 99.5-101.2. 3rd night and it hit 102. i haven't taken tylenol & can't take advil. advice??

See doctor: You can take tylenol for the fever and cough syrup but with fevers that high you may have something serious like pneumonia. If your fevers persist or if you are short of breath at all see a doctor right away.

why does advil take my headache/migraine away, but tylenol dulls the pain for a few hours but then the next day/few hours later, the headache comes back. i thought tylenol was better for headaches but it seems like advil works better for me?

: In general, ibuprofen (advil, motrin) is a better analgesic than acetaminophen (tylenol) but it carries more adverse effects. Take care.
