Yes: most hemorrhoids preperations whether cream, suppositories or foam are in general very safe and in my practice I use a variety of them depending on what insurance will cover.

i had 5 hours of dark brown discharge instead of a period. i have been on minastrin for 3 mos but i took anucort-hc for 8 days 2 wks ago. pregnant??

Chance U R pregnant?: Wouldn't hazard a guess, but if you could be pregnant then at least check a home pregnancy test. If negative, then a Gynecology exam next should address your concern.

We do not: "recommend" OTC or for that matter Prescription medications (just generics) I can tell you that the preparation you mention is an excellent one. It has been "around" a long time and is fairly successful in treating MINOR hemorrhoid conditions

Sure: They are not treating BV.  May be they are treating irritation. Get clarity on what the anucort is for

Avoid constipation: should avoid meds that cause constipation. also do warm sits bath 3 times a day for 10 days, and apply hemorrhoid cream after each bath, suppositories don't help much. High fiber diet is also beneficial.

can ob/gyn treat hemorrhoids? im using anucort suppositories but it still hurts badly. does anucort cause gas and urge to move bowels. gi dr?

Probably not: An Ob/Gyn can treat hemorrhoids with medications, but very few would remove them surgically. You'd usually see a General surgeon for that - you can ask your OBG if he/she can help you.

Anucort: Anucort is a steroid medication (hydrocortisone) used to for itching and swelling associated with hemorrhoids. When applied as a cream 2-3 times daily, it can have an effect after the first topical application or it may take up to a week to notice any difference. Some do not respond at all and it is dependent on the neture of the hemorrhoid, how long you had it, and the amount of swelling.

Painful hemorrhoid: Sit in bathtub with warm water. It seems you have a fissure or potentially infected hemorrhoid. Exam by practitioner seems necessary. Use warm bath repeatedly. Apply Desitin, (zinc oxide diaper cream) too, to the painful area

was prescribed anucort and have yeast bk there, using monistat and taking flagyl. will anucort and flagyl make infectiin worse, i am at risk diabetic?

Yes &amp; No: Flagyl is commonly use for treatment of yeast infection.  Anucort is a steroid and steroid in general can cause/make yeast infection worse.

can i use ice to sooth pain from internal hemorrhoid or fissure? saw idea to freeze water in glove & insert. anucort helpin but still in constant pain

Accepted Answer

Freeze the pain: Cold usually dulls the pain from any tissue as it reduces nerve transmission but at the same time it will also reduce local blood flow (think frost bite!) which may not be a good idea. Your best answer would be a surgical treatment for the hemorrhoids and the fissure. Please consult a general surgeon for your options.
