Multiple measures.: Use Vaseline (or other) petroleum jelly, after cleaning well after each BM, inserted rectally. Change to a high fiber diet. Ask your doc to search for medical problems causing hemorrhoids. See a proctologist if symptoms persist; hemorrhoids can be treated surgically. Sizbaths in 3 inches of water, and even cold packs to shrink hemorrhoids, have been recommended.
