Pain over sinus: This is a condition in which, you're a pain directly over the sinus region. Usually from the bridge of the nose, to the cheek. The pain is usually constant and excruciating. It is due to irritation of a branch of the ethmoid nernerve. Nerve. Supplies sensation for this reason. In my opinion yes really a type trigeminal neuralgia, but the irritation is at a branch of the nerve near it's end.

: It can be due to those sinuses never having formed. While all sinuses forming normally is of course the usual expectation sometimes people have some that do not called aplasia. This happens about 4% of the time, and sometimes it may not aerate (10%). If you know you had sinuses before, such a change needs further evaluation even if no symptoms yet

: May not need surgery depending on what is going on.  Discuss with your own Dr as you did not give us enough info to make even a guess.  Discuss with the ENT who is seeing you to get his expert opinion on what is needed and what might happen in people like you who are your age and with your other problems. Would you like your car Dr to make a diagnosis over the phone??

Detective work: To decide whether or not facial sinus symptoms are related to getting a Fitbit or merely coincidental requires detective work. What changed in one's life after getting the Fitbit? If one started exercising with others, that would mean more exposures to potential upper respiratory infections. If one started walking or running outdoors, that means more exposures to airborne allergens and irritants.

Translation: The sinus cavities in the skull make it lighter by developing as you get older &amp; filling with air. The comment "complete opacification" just means the spaces where air was expected (and darker on x-ray) are full of fluid so they are denser than expected. Whether this is just trapped fluid or pus is for your doctor to decide.

: These findings signify that you've had sinus infections/inflammation. There's scarring and it's likely that mucus is clogging sinus cavities. You may require aggressive measures to promote drainage of this mucus including steam inhalations or even surgical drainage depending upon symptoms. Your ENT specialist can advise you best.
