: The description implies a worrisome decrease in blood flow/circulation in the site. I would see your doctor as soon as it can be arranged. If not available go to urgent care or an emergency room.

i have had a large (over 1") purple bruiselike ring on my left hip for over a week that is starting to heal and tonight i now have the same ring bruising on my right lower leg (backside close to knee). i am wondering how concerned i should be about these/

Possibilities.: While the description sounds like a resolving bruise, I wonder why you are bruising if you had no trauma?  It would be good to have a primary care doctor hear your story and possibly order some blood work.  Document the spots, locations and take a clear digital picture of them when they occur to share with the provider.

i've had many leg tests, right lower leg has narrowing, my toes turn ,red,purple,then black, my right leg below the knee swells twice the size of the left leg and is hot, its painful to walk and sit, no one will help me!! what should i do?

: This sounds like a primary vascular problem and the swellilng suggests some sort of venous blockage. What type of leg test did you have and what were the results? You might also have some element of arterial disease though that seems unlikely in a person your age unless you have a history of diabetes or premature atherosclerosis. A vascular surgeon would be the most appropriate specialist to see.

: I'm not sure that any MD other than an orthopedic surgeon would have such anatomic knowledge.

Blood thinners: It depends, to some extent, on where the clot is. It is possible to have a deep vein thrombosis that is so far down the leg, is so small, and is in such a small vein that we might treat it with anti-inflammatory medicines and compression stockings. If the clot is in a larger vein and is bigger, then we treat those with blood thinners for a minimum of 3 months and use compression stockings too.

Not hsv: See a dermatologist. Explain that it is urgent when you call. No diagnosis is possible without exam ; further history.

ultrasound: There is a blood test that can suggest the presence or fairly certainly determine the absence of a clot, but ultrasound is the usual way to determine if a DVT is present.

im having alot of lower leg swelling and retaining water. my socks leave deep crease in my legs. my husband's are the same only his legs are red and has water blisters and leaks clear. is it heart failure?what do i do?

Edema CHF?: The reason you are both having edema is in part related to eating more sodium(Na) than your kidneys can get rid of. There are many causes and you need to find out as treatment will differ widely.  I recommend USING the app Cronometer to track Na intake to see where the Na is coming from. Your daily goal should be &lt;1,500 mg Na.  Discuss results with your team.  Keep them and us posted.
