Pretty rare, BUT: Lots of folks have chronic sinus problems, but most of the time, localized misery over nasal areas, and occasional postnasal drip with secondary coughing.  If an acute infection supervened and was not treated, this could eventuate in secondary complications such as cavernous sinus thrombosis, but such complications are very rare.  Suggest you see otolaryngologist to assess treatment.

Vascular surgeon: Some people have very prominent,superficial veins while others have deep ones. I doubt that you have any blood clots or arterial aneurysms. If you still have concerns, consult a vascular surgeon for evaluation and advice.

Judgement call: Clexaine (enoxaparin) is far more potent than aspirin but with potency comes the risk of adverse bleeding. Has your sister been tested for thrombophilic (clotting) disorders? The decision to use/not use this med is a judgement call - no textbook will provide the answer, &amp; depends on your sister's specifics. You need to trust her doctors or switch.

: Blood clots in the brain are actually stokes and mini-strokes are not always felt. Aneurysms in the brain typically are not felt until they leak and that is a problem since it a brain bleed. Best to be seen by your Primary Care Physician and discuss especially if the symptoms are new. Odd pains in one area can be outside the skull and in the muscles, but best to be examined.

Various radiologic techniques can be used to further evaluate these aneurysms and thus will dictate treatment options.
