Very different: An aneurysm is an enlargement or dilitation of a blood vessel. This is the result of weakening in the wall of the artery. The flow of blood through the aneurysmal vessel usually remains normal. A blood clot is coagulated blood inside the artery...This impedes blood flow and usually leads to symptoms of ischemia in the part of the body the artery supplies.
