Prevention: There is an increased risk as you get older. Some tips on how to prevent this is generally around the idea of keeping your blood pressure low. This means that you should stay away from things that raise your blood pressure. Don't smoke or use recreational drugs, limit your caffeine intake, be cautious of Aspirin use, avoid straining. Know your limits when lifting weights and talk to your doctor.

No.: Arteriosclerotic abdominal aortic aneurysms occur male/female 2:1, 60y/o+ specially if smokers although I have done coronary bypass surgery followed by repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm on a 42 y/o male, this is not common. People with collagen diseases can develop aortic aneurysms at younger age. Historically syphyllitic aneurysms have occured but other infectious organisms are more common.

Stable now: The critical size for rupture risk is &gt;9mm.  Best you have followup images about once yearly to be safe, and set up contact with a neurosurgeon who has done prior aneurysm surgery, just in case.

It is not unusual: to feel your pulse where you describe but make an appointment with your health care provider to examine you and determine whether additional diagnostic imaging studies are necessary to reassure you.
