Prevention: There is an increased risk as you get older. Some tips on how to prevent this is generally around the idea of keeping your blood pressure low. This means that you should stay away from things that raise your blood pressure. Don't smoke or use recreational drugs, limit your caffeine intake, be cautious of Aspirin use, avoid straining. Know your limits when lifting weights and talk to your doctor.

Hard to know: Weightlifting is not good for you if you have an aneurysm; if so, you shouldn't do it. Other risk factors for aneurysms include drugs weightlifters have been known to take ( no disrespect!), smoking, high blood pressure, and family history. I have seen enlarged right ventricles in weightlifters possibly due to breath-holding during lifting, but am unaware of aneurysms caused solely from lifting.
