Yes: Obviously there are no guarantees but many mental conditions including the serious one that is mentioned  can be put into remission and allow a patient to resume normal functioning. Frequently maintenance treatment may be necessary.

Hard to say...: ...given that we have very limited good data on the natural course of delusional disorder, which is characterized by delusions that are unaccompanied by other psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations.

Most people suffering from the disorder have limited insight, do not seek psychiatric help, meaning scientific data is scarce.

Antipsychotics can produce at least partial relief in many cases.

A diagnosis of delusional disorder requires non-bizarre delusions (situations that occur in real life) and no significant functional impairment (among other requirements).

Not likely: Delusional disorder is an unshakable belief that is not bizarre, meaning it could be possible even if unlikely. Ex: someone convinced that the fbi or the cia is after him/her. Other than the delusion, the person's behavior remains quite normal.A diagnosis of schizophrenia must include delusions with or without bizarre hallucinations, affecting the behavior for a period of 6 months at least.

Psychiatric dx: Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder. A person with schizophrenia may suffer from delusions (doesn't mean that they also have a diagnosis of "delusional disorder").  A delusional disorder is a form of a psychotic disorder.

Delusional disorder: I am a little confused by part of the question. So i will attempt to provide clarification on one aspect of it.  There are many people with delusional disorders who in general function well. Others might not be aware that they have a delusion. On the other hand, someone who is really focused on & acting on their delusions might suffer significant impairment.
