It is not: It is normal for the neutrophil number to wax and wane, but when this is in the very low, ie neutropenic, range it is potentially serious.  Additional warning signs would be chronic mouth sores or recurrent bacterial infections.

Depends: It is a disorder where the neutrophil count is low in a cyclical pattern.  To make the diagnosis, a CBC needs to be checked twice weekly for a few weeks.  Typically the patient has recurrent infections.  A bone marrow biopsy may need to be done to rule out other disorders.  If it needs treatment, then Neupogen is given.  This raises the white count. 4-6 weeks: Vidaza can cause prolonged neutropenia which can be followed by remission and recovery of neutrophils....but you need to give yourself 1 to 2 more weeks. On the other hand blood counts can remain very low if the MDS is resistant to Vidaza in which case there may not be any recovery of Neutrophils. A Bone marrow exam can help to differentiate these 2 possibilities and help in deciding the next step

Emergency evaluation: Febrile neutropenia means low neutrophils which play an important in the bodies ability to fight infection. In an neutropenic state the body is susceptible to life threatening infections. If a fever is present during this period most commonly after chemotherapy then it requires an urgent medical evaluation and antibiotics which are usually given IV with growth factors to boost the neutrophil count.

Yes: Seems that you have neutropenia and it does expose you to a higher risk for infections. Also you should get it worked up soon as to the cause or diagnoses for same. You should see a hematologist in this case and your workup may include a bone marrow testing. What did your brother have? Sorry to hear about your loss.

Neutropenia Rx: Treatment of neutropenia depends on what's causing the condition to begin with. Some people have low white cells due to a medication they are taking. Others are born with it. Others develop it because of dangerous conditions such as leukemia. Please consult with a hematologist to determine what form of treatment is appropriate for you.

: Neutropenia comes in various forms, some more worrisome than others depending on the degree and other health factors of the person. It is best to discuss any limitations with the treatment team who knows the case. This is not a "one answer fits all" condition.

I suggest you have a bone marrow study. This could represent a "Pre-Leukemic" state...not to scare you JUST an "idea" as you requested.  BY NO MEANS AM I MAKING A DIAGNOSIS  This situation is UNUSUAL and this is just a thought!

None that I'm aware: Orchitis is either a viral or bacterial infection of the testicle. If bacterial you need antibiotics. If you are sexually active get checked for a sexually transmitted infection.

Possibly: AD is an incurable degenerative disease of the brain. There have been some studies using medium chain triglycerides to 'feed' the brain(Axona). Recently a study supported the use of hi dose Vit E. Other supplements include Vinpocetine and phosphatidyl serine. Be careful even with supplements and 'natural' products- they maybe unsafe or have interactions with other products or medications.
