A member asked:

If a person has been diagnosed with neutropenia as a result of illness or medical treatment, does that mean they cannot have pets in their home at all or does it just mean they shouldn't handle/clean up pet food bowls, pet waste, etc.?

Neutropenia comes in various forms, some more worrisome than others depending on the degree and other health factors of the person. It is best to discuss any limitations with the treatment team who knows the case. This is not a "one answer fits all" condition.
