No: Look for a different cause. Why is the person taking the supplements in any case? Adult-onset cystic fibrosis is one cause of both pancreatic insufficiency and elevated liver enzymes in some cases.

Possible: Ast and alt are very sensitive to to all kinds of things. Shake your liver around a little too much, drink a little too much alcohol, take the right combo of meds in a little excess or have a little dietary indiscretion and you can see mild increases in ast / alt. Normal levels are still normal and in general we don't get too concerned unless levels are greater than twice the upper limit of normal.

Not fatty liver?: Hepatitis is defined as inflammation of liver cells, as is indicated by elevation in serum transaminases (ast and/or alt). Hepatitis can be caused by a variety of issues (infectious, ischemic, metabolic, toxic, infiltrative, alcohol-related, drugs, etc.).  It is impossible to say why your liver tests are elevated without more information--so, what tests have been done &amp; what has been ruled out?

Normal: Your enzyme levels are normal. AST is present in more tissues where as ALT is present mostly in the liver.

Different causes: There are so many different causes for elevated lft's, so it's impossible to say how concerned you have to be. You need a full work  up to see what you are dealing with.

Nothing: Your liver is better than normal or you are very well hydrated. Interestingly very low numbers can also be seen in advanced stages of liver disease which you obviously do not have.
