What surgery: This is definitely something that needs to be seen to determine the diagnosis and appropriate treatment. If the ulcer is so deep that  there is a risk of penetrating the eye then a surgical procedure is necessary.

Conjunctival cyst: Not related to anesthesia. These coincide with upper respiratory infections. Not a concern they will eventually get smaller or go away.

Gas bubbles in eye: Contact the eye surgeon to express your concerns. S/he can advise you as to what to do—wait, or return to office for further treatment. I suspect the gas bubbles will be absorbed in time, but eye surgeon can confirm/deny that.

No: The bubble was emplaced to push the retina back in its proper position.  The vision recovery depends mostly on the type and degree of detachment. If it is air, then your eye will absorb it.  If it is a silicone based gas, then it will need removal at some time after the retina is stabilized.  Discuss  this with your retinal surgeon.

Conjunctival cyst?: A "heat bubble" may describe a benign conjunctival cyst. The paper thin, nearly transparent, conjunctiva secretes aqueous tears on the outer, but not the inner surface (next to the sclera). A trivial laceration can heal with the outer surface turned inward, secreting clear fluid and eventuating in a cyst. A simple unroofing procedure is curative and minimally invasive. See your ophthalmologist.

hello i recently had retinal detachment surgery 8 days ago, my question is im a medical patient in michigan. i have really bad insomnia . i have a bubble in my eye but no buckle and i only have to face down for sleep. would edibles affect my results?

: Head positioning is very important following retinal detachment repair. Edibles per se won't affect the prognosis so long as you are able to maintain the head down positioning.

Retina & MJ: There are endocannabinoid receptors in your retina, as well as nearly everywhere else in your body.  These can be impacted by external cannabis, and not necessarily in a healing way.  Research on this is in its infancy.  Please ask your retina surgeon about this -- s/he will be your best advisor.

i had retinal detachment surgery nearly 8 weeks ago. i still have the gas bubble in my eye and my pupil is very dilated. i stopped the dilation drops about 6 weeks ago. is this normal or should i be concerned?
