Stiffness: It sounds like you may have stiffness secondary to a wrist contracture. You probably need to return to your surgeon for a re-evaluation and possibly a occupational therapy script.

Non steroidals: At only 5 days postop, you should expect to still have some discomfort.  Ice might help but Aleve (naproxen) or Motrin should help at this point.  If you feel that your pain is beyond what you were told to expect, you should check with your surgeon.

: Get a second opinion, with a hand surgeon.  You may possess additional problems, which have not been pinned down, and need further testing.  Hand therapy may be a productive option.

Common: This is not the same cyst. There are approx. Ten small bones in the wrist. Each of them have a synovial capsule that could rupture and produce a ganglion cyst on the undersurface or top surface of the wrist. Ask your doctor if your activity or use of wrist is promoting this kind of formation.

: By UPTODATE: over 50 percent of patients may experience spontaneous resolution of ganglion cysts and do not require intervention. In you case because of the discomfort, you can have the cyst aspirated if you do not want surgery. However, more than half will recur within a year.

If small/ painless: No need for sugery if small and painless as by the time they are ready to operate it is even difficult to identify it . But if it is large and symptomatic with pain then needs to be operated.Hand surgeons/general  orthopedic doctors are good for this surgery . Receurrence despite the surgery is one of the common complications of this cyst. Scar usually is small. Post op. Wound infectn/keloid can+.

ICE even late and: Motion of fingers helps reduce swelling. When you make a fist and extend fingers you actually compress tissues on the side opposite to the way you move try it, make a tight fist on your opposite hand and you see how the skin on the back of the hand and wrist is squeezed down.  Wrist motion is good too once your wound can tolerate it. Talk to your surgeon  times therapy is needed . Don't forget ice.

@10 pain in wrist from ganglion cyst no visible unless wrist is flexed f/w would surgery be an option? unbearable pain at times surgery or drainage?

Injection: Always try the conservative measures first.  Draining it can work however it may come back.  Talk to ur doctor about this
