It could: Lexapro and Cymbalta (duloxetine) share some features in common, but are not the same drug.  You could experience different activity and side effects -- but hopefully the balance will be in your favor.  Assuming you stopped Lexapro due to not feeling it helped you, or because of side effects?

what are common side effects of coming off of cymbalta (duloxetine)? i took 30mg for ~2.5 months.  psych said to merely cease taking it. shouldnt i be weaned off?

Flu like symptoms: 30 mg is not a big dose to get off of but  a lot of factors effect the discontinuation symptoms. 1 is how long you are on it. 2.5 months  is long enough to have symptoms. Why you were on it, are you switching to something else and what. You will know in a few days of stopping it how you will do.Some of the symptoms can be a flu like syndrome, feelings of electric shock, anxiety and mood changes.

Yes: All of the antidepressants can cause withdrawal symptoms. Your body has been used to an increased amount of serotonin and when the medicine is stopped you could experience a lot of different side effects. Sometimes people get headaches, dizziness and nausea. You doctor will often wean you off of this medicine to prevent these symptoms.

Varies: Nausea, dry mouth, somnolence, fatigue, constipation, decreased appetite, and excessive sweating are the most common side effects caused by cymbalta (duloxetine).  Most of these side effects will taper off after three to seven days. I have found that somnolence and fatigue can persist indefinitely.  In such situations the patient doses in the evening so that peak levels occur during the night.

None: You can't have side effects from a drug you're not taking. If you're talking about withdrawal, hard to say. Certainly if you were taking it for depression, getting depressed again is a possibility.

Probably none: You probably won't experience side effects from discontinuing cymbalt the way you did. However, if you we're taking it to treat major depression, there is a chance that you may begin to experience some of the original symptoms again if you have stopped the drug to early. So, if you begin to experience sleep or appetite changes, or decreased pleasure in activity talk to your doctor.

How are....: ...You feeling so far? That is what is most important. Have you had any side effects? Most common when starting would be slight nausea. If you are tolerating it well now, that's great, it gives you the chance to see what it can possibly do for your fibromyalgia. You have to try it to find out how effective it can be for you. Give this dose time, then discuss with your dr whether to increase or not.

i quit taking cymbalta for polyarthralgia due to severe side effects. it did work   can i take pristiq (desvenlafaxine) as alternate?

Effexor (venlafaxine): Effexor (venlafaxine) x-ray 37.5 mg might be better option make sure you taper cymbals slowly .Talk to your doctor.
