Sick with what?: Adderal increases heart rate &amp; blood pressure, usually not to a harmful degre. Cough &amp; cold preparations with pseudoephedrine add to the increase. Fruit juices &amp; other agents that acidify the GI tract  &amp; urine reduce absorption of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). Antacids &amp; proton pump inhibitors increase its absorption. Tell  your doctor &amp; pharmacist all prescription, OTC, holistic  &amp; "natural" medications you take.

Not really at all...: While some of the ssris (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) may not be all that specific and work via norepinephrine as well, escitalopram (lexapro/cirpalex) is pretty specific. This means it is not as activating as Prozac and zoloft (sertraline) (also ssris) that are generally taken in the morning like the adhd medications (adderall/ritalin) which are very activating (via norepinephrine and dopamine).

Depends: People on Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) for adhd most commonly have decreased appetite & trouble getting to sleep.  May make motor or vocal tics appear or worsen.  It can cause mild increases in BP and pulse rate & cause stomach aches or headaches.  It may cause improved mood or irritability.  Usually, though, se are mild and lessen over time while benefits remain constant.

You can do without: Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) withdrawal causes just a little excessive sedation. If i were sick with a flu and requiring rest, i wouldn't take adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). There should be no problem starting it up again once you're feeling better. We used to routinely have kids take Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) only during school and not on weekends.  There was no problem in stopping it.  We just realized that kids benefited from it on the weekends also.
