Yes: Always take probiotics with and especially after antibiotics. Saccharomyces boulardi is the yeast against yeast, and beneficial. Lots of probiotics are good. Consider kombucha and kefir.

There : There should be no problem taking either of these while also eating  yogurt. They should work well and be absorbed well. Some antibiotics are not well absorbed if you take lots of calcium pills at the very same time you take the antibiotics. Keep in mind that although yogurt has calcium in it it is not calcium pills. Take care.

Try not to miss any more pills. And if you are worried eat your yogurt at other times than when you take the pills. It should still be helpful!

: It makes no difference. Probiotics are just safe germ colonies you can take that can grow in numbers after ingestion and crowd out other germs that may be harmful. Their use can certainly help anyone recently on an antibiotic that can kill off safe germs. Otherwise their use is more fad than a needed supplement.

: Yes. If you stop them and "side effects" go away then you Start again and they reappear then most likely related to Activia. If not convinced then repeat on/off till you are certain this is the cause. Google n of one trials for more details.

Mucous stool...: ...the important findings of..."mucous smelly stools that floats"...is a good indication to have detail work up for lower GI pathology...e.g. Celiac disease, lactose intolerance, etc...or parasitic diseases...please tell your MD...

Yogurt tastes better: These contain the "good organisms" living symbiotically with you. Certain condition such as use of antibiotics often kill-off too many of these good bugs and leave us more susceptible to illness from other bad bugs. Probiotics basically replace some of the loss of the good bug and hopefully restore the balance. Both are safe, but yogurts taste better? And contain calciums/vitamins. Good luck.

Probably Greek: Dannon -- the company that makes activia -- was charged with false advertising on its claims of medical benefit from eating it. Probably the greek yogurts like oikos or fage would contain more of what you&#x27;re looking for. http://tinyurl.com/meqe55m  still, there may be far less probiotic colonies in any yogurt you buy than in specific preparations made for this purpose.
