Sweats after fevers: Night sweats are just sweats during the night and can happen after each fever peaks. Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to look for strep).

Both: Most common scenario is tooth infection causing sinus infection when the infected tooth penetrates in the nearby sinus cavity. The other way around is less likely unless the pus from the sinus cavity eats up the wall adjacent to the tooth and gushes in the tooth canal, which is extremely unlikely outcome.

The type of x-rays: That doctors order do not zero in on a tooth with the detail that dental x-rays do. Even if your doctor were to correctly diagnose an abscessed tooth- antibiotics &pain meds alone are not a definitive treatment. This would require dental intervention. Sorry - dentists &physicians are not usually interchangable.  Please work on your fear of dentists as it sounds like you need one now.

Oral Surgeon: Get to the Oral Surgeon to properly diagnose the problem and initiate proper treatment. If you have an oral-antral fistula then it is paramount that you get there ASAP. These are serious and require expert treatment and management to resolve. Good Luck . Don't delay.

Depends on infection: Depends on the cause.  A real sinus infection would require one type of antibiotic; a tooth-related infection could require one of several different antibiotics depending on what is causing the infection.  Best treatment is to have a professional evaluate the cause and prescribe the right medicaiton.

i took augmentin in may for a sinus infection, i now have a tooth infection is it safe for me to take augmentin again so close to each other?

Augmentin: Not my first choice for dental infection.  Antibiotics, by the way, do not cure infected teeth, only prevent spread of infection for as long as you take it.  You would need at lest 5 days worth.  Yes, safe to take.  But remember the tooth itself will require treatment for a cure, so see your dentist as soon as possible.

Infection in tooth: An infection in this upper tooth can spread to the sinus.  The tooth either needs a root canal therapy or an extraction.  However you need to do it now since you currently have an active infection that needs attention now.

Upper tooth: I assume it was an upper side or back tooth that was removed, and it was never replaced.  The tooth bearing bone, no longer having a tooth to support, dissolved away.  The maxillary sinus then dropped into this area, and now lining of sinus close to underside of gum tissue.  See your Dentist about sinus lift and bone graft.
