A member asked:

For a few days have had sore throat, congested sinuses, a slight cough, and the past couple nights i have woken up sweating. are night sweats a side effect of a cold or sinus infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sweats after fevers: Night sweats are just sweats during the night and can happen after each fever peaks. Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to look for strep).
