i had an abscess on my finger about3 weeks ago and got it taken care of,i now have an abscess in my pubic area for a few weeks now.should i go 2 er?

Yes: If you are asking, it is safer to to to ER than not go. Do go if you have pain and fever.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i have a small abscess on my finger. it is still under the surface but is very painful.  should i put warm compressors and bactroban (mupirocin) on it?

Abscess: Soaking this frequently in warm to hot water or use of compresses will help to bring this to the surface and allow it to be drained, if it really is a boil forming. The best thing to do is to let your PCP see this. Possible that it is actually a herpetic Whitlow, or something other than an abscess.

See doctor NOW: See you doctor or an er immediately. It may need to be drained surgically and you may need antibiotics. Don't fool around with a potentially dangerous condition if you have diabetes.

: A paronychia is a combination of injury to the nailbed from the nail and infection to the injury.  Soaking in warm water is a good treatment, and the appearance of a blister or fluid collection suggests the paronychia is improving.   Keep soaking it and it is likely to drain itself.  If the swelling is getting bigger and more tender, you may need help.

i have paronychia in my left index finger. it has formed an abcess and it has been lanced and i'm currently taking augmentin. a couple of hours ago it burst opened and started draining pus on its own... is this is a good sign?

Recurrent abcess: can come form the wound sealing up too soon, or from a bacteria or fungus that is not treated fully by the antibiotic. While daring pus is better than pus in a closed space that does not drain, if recurrent symptoms are occurring most would be advised to  seek additional  medical attention

Hematomas: With injection drug use -there is a small trauma to the skin/soft tissues/veins each time. Sometimes there could be bleeding under the skin after an injection- that will form a small hematoma or blood bruise. It will shrink down over time and become fibrotic-so you're probably feeling those. An abscess occurs when that becomes infected and it's a big throbbing mass of bacteria. Hope u can get help
