Biopsy: An abnormal GROWTH by the ovary and fallopian tube should be considered cancer until proven otherwise. Cancer would be unusual in a 20 yr old female and other facts must be considered. Is it truly a GROWTH? Could it be an infection or ectopic pregnancy?

: Not knowing what the study was and not having seen it cannot really comment. Perhaps L tube is clogged up for some reason.

Sometimes: you might have post tubal menorrhagia, which is heavier more painful periods after removing or blocking the tubes.  This occurs because about 25% of women expel period blood back thru the tubes as well as out the vagina.  However, there may be other issues like adenomyosis, endometriosis and endometritis going on.  I would schedule a gyn visit

If tube there: then possibility of ectopic pregnancy is real, and this can be rapidly fatal
cannot say in your particular case, but generally, ectopics are an emergency until they are PROVEN NOT TO BE THERE&gt;

Get help: See a doctor who specializes in fertility medicine; either an rei or a obg with expertise in the area. The combination of irregular cycles with a missing tube may make it quite difficult, maybe impossible, to conceive without guidance, but chances can still be very good with help.

Fallopian tubes: Fallopian tubes are paired tubular structures, right and left, that connect the uterus to the pelvic cavity. The tube picks up an egg (oocyte) after ovulation at its far end and transports it down towards the uterus. If the woman had intercourse sperm swims through the uterus into the tube at the near end, when conception occurs it is in the mid-portion of the tube.

go to GYN: You might need to get a hysterosalpingography or uterosalpingography a radiologic procedure to investigate the patency of the tubes. An interventional radiologist can sometimes open the occluded tubes. Go to doctor to discuss options.

Accepted Answer

No: You can sometime have them put back together or have a reanastomosis if their is enough tube left to perform that procedure.  It is hard to know if their is enough tube for sure prior to performing the surgery.  Need to consult with a specialist.  Also, you could consider IVF - this is very successful method to help achieve a pregnancy after having a tubal.  Hope this helps.

Many ways: Fallopian tubes can be blocked for several reasons: a prior infection of the tubes, appendix, or uterus, previous surgery causing scar tissue inside the belly, and endometriosis. Sometimes surgery can provide answers by looking for these causes, and sometimes there is no obvious answer.
