Not necessarily: Enlarged lymph nodes (adenopathy) can be a sign of many things including metastatic GI tract cancers, lymphoma, infectious diseases, sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, or can be benign. Follow-up with you physician for further work-up.

: Radiologists get fussed at if they just say normal. The wording is just a way to describe normal findings on the exam that indicates there is no signs that would indicate a problem.

With : With the history of prostate ca, the lesions at the bones mentioned at the report correspond to infiltration of the tumor (metastasis). The others are benign findings. Your oncologist should direct his therapy with these findings and may order another studies such a nuclear medicine bone scan to assess the extension of the metastatic disease.

: There is no evidence of a bone marrow malignancy such as multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis or macroglobuinemia. However,I'm sure you're being evaluated by a hematologist for the anemia, petechiae,lymphadenopathy &amp; discomfort in the area where your spleen is located. More testing is needed. The hematologist is best to continue the workup&amp; advise you.

i got ct scan of abdomen and pelvis last july and it showed inguinal lymphadenopathy and a possible inflammatory change in colon.my doctor wants to repeat ct to look at lymph nodes and since i've been ill for a year.should i worried about radiation?

: It is correct that you are concerned about radiation exposure with CT of the abdomen and pelvis.
I would not have it done if you have been free from all GI symptoms since then.
The test is indicated if you are still suffering with lower GI symptoms; however, a colonoscopy with biopsy is more helpful for diagnosing chronic inflammatory bowel syndrome.
I' m not concerned much about the adenopathy.

Unknown: Sorry but I am not clear as to what your question is?  Lymphadenopathy is defined as lymph nodes that are either enlarged or have an abnormal feel i.e. hardened, painful.

i just got a copy of my report of my mri. it says "shows some stable retro peritoneal adenopathy, may be reactive." what does that mean?

Impression not a dia: If the nodes are under 2 cm less likely to be cancerous. Ie inflammatory or in response to something else

Malignant: Usually refers to cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes.  For example, cancers of the head and neck (tonsil, larynx, mouth, sinus) can have involvement of nodes in the neck.  If they do this typically suggest local spread and may require additional therapy, such as chemotherapy and radiation.  Hope this helps.  Other cancers can spread to the neck as well.
