Sounds normal.: We all have lymph nodes in our neck. Sometimes they get a little "prominent". The "preserved hilum" is a good thing because it means the lymph node looks normal otherwise. If there were no other findings, then this is OK.

Mmmm...: All normal humans have unenlarged bilateral cervical lymph nodes, so that by itself has no special meaning.

Why did you get one: At your age mammograms are not recommended unless you have a high risk to develop breast Cancer. So tell us the history and what did your doctor advise you to do next?
From my perspective, I do not find these changes alarming. Recheck with mammography is discretionary depending on your family history and  risk factor/s.

can hashimoto's (no nodules) just high antibodies (over 500), normal tsh, cause mild enlarged anterior cervical lymph node for 7 months? some docs admit it can, but some say there is no connection. done all possible tests, everything else is perfect?

Accepted Answer

: Hashimoto’s  thyroiditis is associated with mild enlargement of cervical lymph nodes. They are firm and mobile. Lymphadenopathy resolves with the treatment  of thyroiditis. If lymph node is larger than 1.5 cm, hard or fixed , it needs removal and biopsy. Mostly due to inflammation, yet excluding cancer is important. Hope it helps.

i have a chain of palpable cervical lymph nodes from back of my neck to 2 inches from clavicle. some hurt some don't. mostly all movable. what is this?

Many: Most of the time, they are likely from an infection at that side of the body above the neck area (tonsil, sinus gum, teeth etc) But if the node sizes get larger or the enlargement continues for more than 2 weeks, be sure to check with your doctor.

i have had enlarged supraclavicular and posterior cervical lymph nodes for 3 years. since i've had them so long do you think they aren't serious?

It is worrisome: Lymph nodes swell when there is something wrong. It can be something as simple as a sinus infection or as serious as cancer, HIV/AIDS, or syphilis. The only way to decide if is is &quot;serious&quot; is to determine what is causing it. Three years of supraclavicular lymphadenopathy would make me worry about the possibility of lymphoma (a type of blood cancer). See your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

deep cervical lymph nodes enlarging every 1-2 weeks. i have sle and sjogrens. is this due to just the a.i.s or possibly cancer? what  tests can i do?

Could be either: Sle and sjögren's syndrome can both cause enlarged lymph nodes.  These diseases also can increase the risk of lymphoma - a type of cancer which can also cause these lymph nodes to swell.  It is also possible that your swollen lymph nodes are due to sinus problems, an infection, or something unrelated to your autoimmune disease.  You should see your doctor to determine the best course for you.

Upper neck mass: Many possibilities. Parotid tumor, lymphoma, branchial cleft cyst are the more likely causes in a 26 year old. See ENT asap.

Unlikely: It is common to have neck nodes increase in size with sore throat and head colds. Unless the nodes are progressively enlarging and get past 2 cm in size, I would not think about lymphoma as the cause.
