A member asked:

For 1/2-1 yr, i have enlarged neck (cervical) lymph nodes. always a large 1 (size of thumbprint) on left neck & sometimes smaller 1s too. lymphoma?

Unlikely: It is common to have neck nodes increase in size with sore throat and head colds. Unless the nodes are progressively enlarging and get past 2 cm in size, I would not think about lymphoma as the cause.

Lympadenopathy: enlarged lymphnodes can be common and the thoughts of a serious cause such as lymphoma is always in the back of ones head. O good complete history and physical exam is important as well as some routine testing, including at the least a cbc-diff. The definitive diagnosis however for chronic lymphnode enlargement is a biopsy. Best wishes.
