Genetics: We all have differences from each other due to genetics, including gender and nutrition. The rates at which various chemicals, including alcohol, are metabolized, vary among people and explains how long after the last drink etg may be detectable.
Alcohol is a poison and you should abstain.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Alcohol Detection: The simple answer is yes.  New enzyme testing in urine means that alcohol may be detected for several days after use.  Of course this also depends on how much one has drunk and what your body's metabolism is like. But, forty eight hours is most like to be too soon.

Risk: If you're being tested for alcohol use, you really won't want any trace of the alcohol in your system right? Then, you figure out how much has left the body. The average person removes 0.017% of their blood alcohol each hour. Heavy drinkers remove 0.020%, and some people metabolize as little as 0.012% per hour. This can take days for large amounts of alcohol to leave the system.

No: Even a non-fasting specimen is okay for monitoring this important lab parameter. Alcohol doesn't affect it much. If you do drink to excess on a daily basis, you may ruin your liver. It's a miserable way to live and die, but your cholesterol will be low. Otherwise, drink sensibly and enjoy your life. Best wishes.

Should: Enough time has expired for ETG to have been excreted.
However, you should not be taking alcohol at all. Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever.

Test for what?: It depends on what is being tested for. Urine test for etg will be positive.

Accepted Answer

Breathalyzer: Breathalyzer or blood testing would accomplish this.  The liver metabolizes alcohol at a set rate so the size of a person can make a difference in how long it is detectable.  This would also vary depending on how much alcohol was consumed in that 24hr period.  If a small enough amount is consumed it might not be detectible even a few hours later.

Probably: Alcohol itself may be gone, however metabolites of alcohol are often tested for and can be present for 90hrs.

Do not drink: Blood alcohol levels will not be abnormal at 24 hours after a drink. However there are other tests that can detect alcohol intake up to 80 hours earlier. It would depend on what test is being done. Some tests are positive for two weeks after the drink in a chronic drinker.  See this site for info.
