Risk: If you're being tested for alcohol use, you really won't want any trace of the alcohol in your system right? Then, you figure out how much has left the body. The average person removes 0.017% of their blood alcohol each hour. Heavy drinkers remove 0.020%, and some people metabolize as little as 0.012% per hour. This can take days for large amounts of alcohol to leave the system.
