Can be : normally we don't measure the endometrial stripe in young women in their 20's as it will vary depending on when you are in the menstrual cycle.  Discuss with your obgyn who knows your history if your sonogram was normal

? ovarian cyst: Your uterus sounds normal.  You don't say where the cystic lesion is, but most likely it's in the ovary.  If so, it needs evaluation, since it's not normal, and likely some type tumor.  If the cystic lesion is in the uterus, i'm not sure what to think.

The endometrial stripe is measured to determine if there is uterine wall cancer. Fibroids are benign tumors of the uterine that can bleed and cause discomfort. Cysts may be a source of pain as well. The ordering provider can determine whether gynecology referral is indicated.

Depends: If you were 59 that stripe would not be normal but at 49 it could be depending on where you are during your cycle if still having periods. If taking pills that stripe would be abnormal. Could indicate a polyp or build up of tissue if not having regular cycles. Would need to know why was this checked? If concerned could either biopsy or take Progesterone to thin out or check seral sonograms.

Not sure: A 12mm endometrial strip, assuming you still have cycles, can be normal towards the end of your cycle.  If you are having abnormal bleeding, then an endometrial biopsy is indicated in women 40 years of age and older.  I would need more details of your history to give you a better answer.

: The importance of endometrial stripe thickness depends on pre or post menopausal uterus, the timing the US is done during the cycle and the indication of the pelvic ultrasound. So if you have the US done due to abnormal vaginal bleeding, this thickness rules out endometrial hyperplasia as the cause but if you want to get pregnancy then this result is not good if US was not done during period time.

Ultrasound measures: These measurements probably were taken by an ultrasound device, and represent probably a pre-ovulation time in your cycle. The ovary which will produce the egg will be larger than the other, and the endometrial stripe is normal for pre-ovulatory dimensions.

Young age: The endometrial stripe will vary a lot and we don’t usually pay too much attention to it in a 19 year old unless there are specific concerns for polyps. Discuss the findings with your Obgyn to determine if any further testing is needed

im 23 years old and just found out i have a 2 cm prominent thickening of the endometrial stripe, i have left pelvic pain  should i be worried?

Millimeters or cms.?: One centimeter equals 10 millimeters and therefore a 2 cm thickening of the endometrium in a non pregnant uterus is a concern. Usually the endometrium is sampled (biopsied) to find out why. Check with your GYN MD for further advice.
