Itchy Rash: Itchy red rash on this young toddler may indicate a form of contact dermatitis. Some children may precede with a red rash to their extremities as a sign of a viral infection . I suggest you inform your child's pediatrician. I would also suggest you check child's temperature and look at other areas on the body for rash and child's oral cavity for sores or inflammation.

my 5 year old daughter's throat has been swollen for 2 days but she says it doesn't hurt. tonight her cheeks are very red and blotchy. should i be conc?

Pediatrician: Bring her to her pediatrician for a check up. Throat swelling depending on degree can interfere with her breathing especially while sleeping and you wouldn't want to let an infection go unchecked.

See your Dr: Any skin reaction to meds or lotions needs to be evaluated by a Dr in a 5 yr old. Give 12mg Benadryl immediately and then call your Dr's office to make a same day or next day appointment. Watch for swelling of lips, eyes and tongue which can indicate a more severe allergic reaction. Do not stop taking meds unless specifically directed by your Dr.

See your doctor.: The soft spot (fontanelle) should close between 1 and 2 years of age.  There are various medical conditions that can cause it to remain open longer.  I encourage you to see your child's doctor as soon as possible to evaluate this issue.  Good luck!

Be seen: The shape of the skull varies, it could be just her normal shape or a swelling of many causes. Have her checked, all the best.

Needs to be seen: I would be concerned that the lumps are lymph nodes.  If he can not bend his head to  his chest, then meningitis is a possibly.  While there are other concerns, meningitis is the most serious and should be investigated as soon as possible.

Unrelated: You don't get fever from a bump on the head. If the kid did not get knocked out at the time, did not have episodes of vomiting or other signs to suggest a true head injury his event,if it happened,  was not significant. You do need to handle his fever as you would any other time as an illness.
