Need more space: to give the full answer. Short answer: they're the same, it depends on the embryo number and embryo quality. Day 5 allows transfer of fewer embryos (less risk of multiples) while keeping rates at the sam level. had ivf 2 day transfer of 3 embryos: a 2 cell, a 4 cell, and a 1 cell.  the 2 & 4 cell were the highest grade.  what is my chance of success? i'm 41.

Depends: It is difficult to grade the embryos accurately  on day 2  since it is so early and the embryos will undergo further changes before implantation.  Of the 3 embryos one of them  (4 cell) seems perfect. Statistically the chances of pregnancy at age 41 with ivf 15% - 20 % . Goody luck.

It depends: It depends on the University Center or MD's office at which the IVF was done. Most results  are reported as 3 or 6 month cycles for conception. Some Centers have even reported conception rates when no viable products can be obtained rather than live baby rates. So, this was a question that you should have asked your provider BEFORE embarking on IVF.

0-50 percent: Success at ivf can be predicted. 

Age is the best predictor of ivf success, but it is not the only factor. The endometrial lining has some impact, as does the quality of eggs, sperm, ovulation induction, lab quality, and transfer technique. 

Pregnancy rates vary also depending on the number of embryos transferred, and often it makes sense to transfer fewer embryos for safety reasons.

Could be normal: It's not diagnostic, so it could be implantation from a pregnancy or a miscarriage.

Unsure: The hCG injection you too could cause a positive test - ask the doctor who performed the transfer to check the levels of hCG in your blood - they will begin to rise within a week or so of the transfer.

is  cumulus aided transfer a proven technique to increase implantation success in ivf procedures ?  which clinic in the us utilizes this technique ?

No: This technique, which adds cumulus cells from inside ovarian follicles to the ivf mixture, has not been shown to improve ivf success whatsoever. As ivf centers strive to improve pregnancy rates, if this was shown to help, this simple technique would be widely employed (but it's not). Yes: I have seen patients get pregnant after 5 cycles however it is getting to a point where the usage of the medications can be unhealthy. Are you bouncing between IVF clinics?

Not really.: As anxious a time as this is, symptoms are an unreliable indicator of good or bad outcome.  Have to just hang in there.
