Fasting: Not what u need daily. If u want 2 do this, divide 500 by # of meals. Not a health diet tho.

Not healthy: Too few calories- In general the amount of calories you are suggesting would be too low to sustain a weight loss over time. Your body may go into starvation mode and decrease its metabolism cause its not getting enough calories. I suggest more calories- with 20% as protein, 60% as complex carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes. 20% as healthy fats from nuts, seeds,etc

Your Choice my sugge: Brekfast 70o cals

lunch 750 to850 cals average 800 cals

healthy snack 200 cals

dinner 800 cals
you can rearrange the way you desire based on whether you want a full breakfast, or bigger lunch and snacks etc and total adds up to 2500 cals
it is not a good idea to skip breakfast or another meal unless unavoidable circumstances.

Individualize: For this kind of issue, you really need your own physician and/or nutritionist to review your situation.  There may be foods to which you're sensitive, or which you don't like.  You may also need muscle-building workouts, which a trainer could help you with.  Creating such a plan would be an interactive process that considers your individual needs.  Good luck to you.

i'm a recovering bulimic & stopped purging but struggling with my meal plan. i'm on a maintenance plan--why am i gaining weight? i don't want to gain.

Maintenance plan?: We'd need to review your maintenance plan in detail to answer best.  Does it include exercise and consistent sleep?  What specifically are you eating (processed foods, or healthy lean proteins, veggies, fruits, good fats like olive oil, avocado, etc)?  Are you drinking alcohol?  Were you underweight when purging?  All can affect your outcome -- please discuss concerns w/your doc & nutritionists.

i have been on yaz for about 5 months now. i have gained weight around my hips and cant loose it (and for the past 2,5 months ive been gyming 4-5 times a week and following a fairly healthy meal plan). is yaz the problem?

Weight gain: It is important to reduce carbohydrates, portion size, and to exercise to control weight gain.  There is some water retention which can add to one;s weight as a side effect from oral bcp.  This is probably not what is causing difficulty in losing your weight.  Make sure you are not eating extra carbs  b/c you are hungry after your gym sessions.  Keep your portions small, and add extra protein.

Not a good eating: Habit. It helps to eat a balanced diet in small amounts during the day. Eating one big meal at night is more likely to lead to the excess calories being stored as fat. If any thing your last meal for the day should be the smallest. It would be good to consult a nutritionist or your doctor for on-going care and advice.

after eating a small meal of apple, carrots, light low calorie  bread, and one piece of fake meat. i fell asleep 30 minutes later for a half an hour or so. weill i gain weight or will i be ok?

You should be fine: Whether you gain weight or not is a balance between how much you take in and how much you lose by exercise, etc.  It is not uncommon to be sleepy after eating, particularly after lunch.

Follow the math: One must consume fewer calories than she uses or else she will not lose any weight. Even if she is eating apparently small amounts of food, and moving a lot, the laws of nature do not change... meaning there will not be weight loss until the number of calories taken in to one's body is less than the number of calories burned up each day. This is always true for "normal, healthy people."
