Yes, in general: If stored under good conditions (appropriate temperature and humidity and light) the medicines are supposed to maintain their potency at least through their experation date (printed on the label). Over time all chemicals can deteriorate. That's most important to be careful with meds for serious conditions such as seizure disorders or high BP. Ambien (zolpidem) is just to make you sleepy, not so serious.

i've taken ambien (zolpidem) 12.5 cr for year. i'm cutting it down now to 6.25 cr. some nights i get no sleep at all with this change. can i take melatonin too?

Try to avoid electronics, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, vigorous exercise, bright lights, ; large meals prior to bedtime. Regularize your sleep ; wake up times. Understanding why you have insomnia can be effective in treating it. A sleep medicine specialist can help with figuring that out.

i take adderal and xanax (alprazolam) together and then ambien before bed.  what are my health risk i am a 37 year old male

Why ?: I don't understand this combination. Adderall is to be taken in the morning for add, adhd or conditions like narcolepsy. Because Ambien is already sedating - don't know why you would need to add in xanax (alprazolam). Please discuss this thoroughly with your prescribing provider.

took ambien (zolpidem) 10mg for 2 year's. my dr changed me to 15mg diazapam. not working for insomnia. if i already took the valium 20mg can i take a 10mg ambien (zolpidem)?

You. May: Why did your. Dr stop ambien (zolpidem)?   You. Did not tell your. Age .  Why did your dr start  valium?   If you needed something. For. Anxiety. Lorazepam. Would have been better .  In my opinion  both drugs are in the end are monster but if you had to take one. Take the one. Which helps you with least side effects .  I would not take both just to sleep .Valium can give you more problems if you had to stop.
