my recent blood smear showed slight "polychromasia"; cbc is normal except: low granulocytes & high lymphocytes. (last 2 years showed: poikilocytosis & mild neutropenia). not anemic. possible causes of this polychromasia? should this be checked into?

Any symptoms?: Why was the test done? All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, nothing in the information you provided warrants any concern.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i have a 4 year old daughter who has had a fever for 8 days and her blood test results read that her wbc was 4.6 her rbc was 5.11 her lymphocyte 63%?

Unremarkable: Not specific enough to rule out serious bacterial infection but less likely to have one.

Cbc: You didnt give the total white blood count but for me this signifies either and early viral infection or a low greade bacterial infection. The RDW and mpv are red blood cell indices and are inconsequential as related to this infection

my 4 year old has high sudden fever , (38-39c ) , it goes down after taking calpol but comes back again in 6 hours.she has only very slight runny nose?

Common issue: Kids in this age group are expected to get 4-7 viral illnesses/yr and many will present this way. Most will self heal over a few days to a week. As long as the kid takes fluids well enough to pee every 8 hrs or better, feed enough to be active &amp; plays some it can be monitored at home. Fever meds may or may not take a degree or two off the top for a few hours. It can be used as needed for comfort.

Accepted Answer

No: Probably viral, and totally unrelated to filling, unless tooth is infected. High fever and shaking ire disturbing. See both Dentist and Physician to try to determine cause of infection and appropriate treatment. Keep her hydrated and try to bring down the fever.

Fever: you can use these up to 3 times a day as need.  If the fever is persistent then i would get to your physician for further evaluation.

Accepted Answer

No: If she is behaving as she normally does that is great. Most doctors view a temp of greater than 100.4 F or 38 C as a fever. If they're no localizing signs - I.e. Difficulty swallowing, coughing, pulling at the ear- just keep observing and she will almost certainly return to her normal state. You should read an article called "Fever Phobia" written 40 years ago. Still valid point!

???????????: Any fever is expected to increase heart rate by about 10 bpm/degree/F and breathing by 5 bpm. If she has a fever producing illness, this is expected. Fever reducing medications may be comforting. If the kid is failing to take fluids enough to pee at least every 8 hours she should be evaluated.

Depends on health: Some of the more common causes of an elevated bun/cr ratio are: dehydration, GI bleeding, increased protein intake, small amount of muscle mass, increased muscle breakdown. If he appears ill or has other symptoms have him evaluated.

i am planning a family trip to a malaria high risk area. i have a 1year old and a 4 year old. what preventative medication can i get for the children?

Depends on Area: Studies show that malaria prophylaxis can be tailored to the exact country you are visiting. According to the CDC, Atovaquone/Proguanil can be used in all areas. 
You should realize that malaria is one of the most fatal infections a child can acquire and consider how wise it is to plan an unnecessary trip to expose your children to a potentially fatal illness.  Is vacation really worth it? No
