i took 1 azo otc last night around midnight. it's now 10:30. i have a 3 year old who is breastfed but minimally and weaning currently. is this harmful to her? i didn't know it wasn't approved for bf babies?

Some basics: RSV is a worrisome infection to small infants whose tiny airways  plug easily with mucus.A 3 yo is at little risk when they do get it because their lungs have bigger airways. At that age they essentially get a cold. Meds are seldom helpful. Treatment is supportive &amp; focuses on comfort.If the kid feeds poorly/won't play have him seen.They do get secondary infections in the ears/lungs occasionally

Warm, but no fever: Its common for a child to feel warm but when you take their temperature, they don't have a fever.  Certain areas of the body have increased blood flow which can make them feel warmer.  Also, if the ambient temperature is cool or your hands are cold, the child's skin will subjectively feel warmer.  There's always a chance the thermometer is faulty, so you can try taking the temp with another one!

Regular diet: If a 3 year-old child is healthy, she/he should be on regular healthy diet with all varieties of meat, fish, vegetables and fruits cooked or prepared in low salt, low sugar and low fat way like every one else. Also, healthy drinks like  low fat milk--2 cups a day and the rest water, to drink.

Bottle tooth decay?: A dentist can give the best advice. Probably s/he would advise limiting sugar intake and especially not to sleep with a bottle with milk, juice, sugared soft drink, etc.. Any rash?: if there is a rash then it is likely a virus. there are amny viruses going around this time of year. any other symptoms? tummy pain, nausea, vomiting. try tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin. if it still persists and additional symptoms arise see your pediatrician.

Usually a virus: These are typically viral and self heal over time. As long as the mouth sores don't interfere with his ability to keep hydrated he should do okay. Chilled drinks, chilled applesauce, or popsicles help reduce the pain of the sores and promote hydration. If he gets to where he won't pee at least once every 8 hrs he's getting dry &amp; may need to be seen.

Supportive care: There is little evidence that any OTC cough med does anything for kids that age &amp; some that they thicken secretions making them harder to couugh up. A little lemon juice in a teaspoon of honey seems a benifit to most. A concentration on good nutrition &amp; fluid intake is the main treatment.

3 year old asthmatic female with slight fever and very congested threw up 12 hrs ago and temp hasn't gone back to normal. 30bpm;150's pulse.  should i take her to urgent care?

Yes: I would recommend that she be seen. Has she had her flu vaccination as yet? It is recommended unless otherwise contraindicated.

my 3 year old has a constant dry tickly cough for 3 wks. no temp. he refuses to take any cough medicine. been giving him my avamys nasal spray but it hasnt worked and hes also refusing that. ?

Let him be: Studies in the US over a decade ago have shown little to no benefit of common cough meds to kids under six. They can actually thicken secretions where they are harder to cough up/out. Sometimes a little lemon juice added to a spoonful of honey will both help and be accepted by cranky kids.
