Q: my father had random glucose level of 135 two days back, today it was 189 after 1 hour of taking tea with 1 spoon of sugar along with some sugar free biscuits. he is non diabetic as a month ago his fasting was 99. should i worry?

Worth a study: I would have him arrange to see his doc &amp; do a A1C study, which reflects blood sugar variation over a 3 month period. He may be a type 2 diabetic that glucose levels done at random did not clearly reveal earlier.

Blood sugars: Our blood sugar levels fluctuate. Maybe you had a carbohydrate rich meal for dinner. Maybe you ate dinner late. There are many factors that can create variations. If you are having markely elevated blood sugar reading you need to notify your provider.

Type 2 diabetes: Your fasting and post meal glu values are rather good. It appears you have discovered that weight loss and diet (and exercise?) is more powerful than medications for blood sugar control.  It would be nice if you can get your fasting glu below 100. But you should still be talking to your doctor. There is more to diabetes than blood sugar.  Blood pressure? cholesterol?  Eyes?  Feet? Kidneys?

Flat curve: That is what you see in people that have a flat glucose tolerance curve, you metabolize(burn) carbohydrates very efficiently.

Obesity and: insulin resistance can lead to fasting hyperglycemia that can drop with an after meal excess insulin surge. Talk w/your doctor, and it you've overweight, get on a diet and exercise regimen.  Also stop smoking.

Whoa: Your fasting glucose at 69 is lower than your post-prandial glucose at 92 -- is there a typo? I'd urge you not to self-diagnose the fad diagnosis "hypoglycemia", but to read up on post-prandial syndrome which is real, not a lab diagnosis, and responds best to getting help managing stress, staying physically fit, limiting caffeine, and perhaps carrying a snack (raisins are great).
