Extinguish slowly: At night, a thorough routine that is always followed is key. That way they know what is coming, and there is bed at the end. If there is a lot of anxiety at first and they scream until you come in and "hang out", then do that. Start sitting close, pay minimal attention, then every few nights, start sitting closer to the door. They slowly get used to you being further away, then out of the room.

Involved body parts can be poorly developed or absent. Nails can be thick, misshapen or rough but usually cause no problems. See your doctor for diagnosis, genetic history, &amp; therapy.

Confusion: Babies in that age group thrive or predictable patterns of person contact, sleep, feeding, etc. When separated from their routine, they can become confused & bewildered. A separation for a month from his primary caregiver for a month is expected to alter sleep & feeding patterns & the child's developing sense of trust . Give him 1-3 months & things should be back on track. They are resilient.

Probably: It's a pretty typical age for this type of problem if that's what it is.   If so, you can put him in his crib, then sit next to his crib until he's asleep.  Then repeat the next night, but a little farther away.  And so on until you're out fo the room.  That way you're still with him and you don't traumatize him too much.  But be strong;  once he's in the crib he stays there.

Patience & comfort: Infants become aware of the difference between primary caregivers and others @ 6-9 mo. Sadly, their brains don't allow them to realize you exist when they do not see you, so they begin to express fear when you leave. This improves gradually after games like peek-a- boo teach the concept. Accept this as a normal stage.Avoid showing anxiety as baby will sense it & worry. Comfort baby at all times.
