Confusion: Babies in that age group thrive or predictable patterns of person contact, sleep, feeding, etc. When separated from their routine, they can become confused & bewildered. A separation for a month from his primary caregiver for a month is expected to alter sleep & feeding patterns & the child's developing sense of trust . Give him 1-3 months & things should be back on track. They are resilient.

Possible trauma: Possibly your child is experiencing trauma. I would recommend he be seen by the pediatrician. Then and evaluation by a child psychiatrist or child psychologist maybe in order.

Some questions: How long since you and your child have been reunited? Infants who experience separation from a parent sometimes show anger by being distant, but this usually dissipates in a day or so. If it continues more than a day or two, have child evaluated by a pediatrician and by either a child clinical psychologist or child psychiatrist for abuse or other trauma.
