A member asked:

Buspar (buspirone) and zoloft do they interact?

Yes: Both drugs effect serotonin. Combined at high doses there is a risk of a toxic effect. On the other hand, Buspar (buspirone) can enhance the effect of antidepressants like zoloft when depression has been refractory to treatment.

Good mix often: Yes- usually very nicely. Buspar (buspirone) is a great adjunct for a patient with an anxious depression or with an anxiety disorder. The ssri dose would have to be quite high for Buspar (buspirone) to push over the edge into a serotonin syndrome.

Zoloft/Buspar: Some nausea or headaches, otherwise ok. Recommend on full stomach.
